Marble with Maryam

A creative hands-on session. This technique involves applying special alcohol-based inks onto non-porous surfaces (such as Yupo paper or glossy boards). The inks are then guided using blending solutions, isopropyl alcohol, air (blowing with a straw, airbrush, or heat gun), and tilting of the paper. The result is the flowy, cloud-like patterns and the vibrant, layered effect you see in the blue and yellow areas of the painting. It’s popular because it creates abstract, organic designs that are unique every time—no two pieces will ever look the same.

Unveil the Blue Qur’an

In this workshop, participants will learn the mystery behind the Blue Qur’an, recognised as a masterpiece of Islamic art, the discoveries made by Zayed National Museum, and the techniques used by our curators to uncover these findings.
Participants will be sketching and painting geometric Islamic designs found in medieval manuscripts.

JUNIOR DROP - IN STUDIO
Starting from
Drop-In Studio is designed for people of all ages to casually experiment with an easy to follow, designed art activity and create artworks at their own pace. Prior booking is required. Children aged 8 years old and under should be accompanied by an adult at all times in the Drop-in Studio.
A wide variety of drawing and painting supplies are provided along-side books and other educational resources for visitors to browse through for inspiration and guidance.
